This Assam black tea comes from the Doomur Dullung tea garden, located in the eastern part of the Assam province. The name Doomur Dullung translates literally as “fisherman’s bridge”. Assam teas are produced from Camellia sinensis var. assamica, a tea plant variety associated with this region.
The grade TGFOP1 stands for Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe First Grade. This label is mainly used for good quality teas from Assam and Darjeeling.

Black tea. Origin: Assam, India.
Preparation
Use 1 teaspoon of tea, approximately 2g, for a 2 dl cup. Pour boiling water at 100°C over the tea and steep for 3-5 minutes. Strain after steeping.
The tea can be poured up to three times. For the second and third infusion, monitor the water temperature and extend the steeping time. Correct water temperature and steeping time are important, as over-steeping can make black tea taste more bitter.
Milk may be added to black tea, although it is not necessary. Some people prefer it because milk can soften the natural acidity of black tea.
