Pi Lo Chun is a tea name often associated with Chinese origins, but this Formosa version comes from Taiwan. The Taiwanese version is described as a higher-quality version of Chinese Pi Lo Chun, influenced by the special soil composition and the climate where the tea trees grow.
The leaves are longer and larger than those of the Chinese version of the same tea. The tea is harvested from mid-March to mid-April. The name Pi Lo Chun means “green spring snake”, mainly because of the elongated green leaves.

The tea has a fresh, fruity aroma that is slightly reminiscent of citrus. This impression comes from the floral aroma of Pi Lo Chun tea. Its cup is golden-yellow to light yellow, giving it an elegant and inviting appearance.

Taiwanese green tea. Origin: Taiwan.
Preparation
Use 1 teaspoon of tea, approximately 2g, for a 2 dl teacup. Pour over water that has boiled and cooled to 70°C. Steep for 2 minutes, then strain.
The tea can be infused up to three times. Monitor the water temperature for each infusion and extend the steeping time for the second and third infusion.
For cold preparation, use 1 teaspoon of tea per 2 dl of cold water. Leave the tea in the water for 2-3 hours, then strain. You may adjust the finished drink to taste with sugar, honey, citrus fruits, fresh fruit, or fruit juices.
